Summer Programs

Vacation Bible School & Day Camp

Life is a Highway Vacation Bible School & Day Camp was a wonderful week full of lots of learning, singing, craft making, game playing, science experimenting, and eating. The kids and the adults learned something new about all of our stories: Ruth & Naomi, Manna & Quail in the Wilderness, Escape to Egypt, Road to Emmaus, and Paul’s Conversion. Thanks to everyone who joined us this year, and look for more information in February 2020 about our 2020 Vacation Bible School & Day Camp: Go for the Gold! Mark your calendars for July 20-24.

Flat Jesus

Wherever your summer plans take you, we want to encourage you to take Jesus with you. There are Flat Jesus printouts at church on the Welcome Kiosk or you can email Becky Cole ( to get one mailed to you! Color Flat Jesus and glue him to the craft stick if you want. Take Flat Jesus with you wherever you go. Take a picture and post it on social media (Facebook, Instagram) with #hslcflatjesus2019 so we can see where you take Jesus this summer. Beginning June 1, there will be a United States map, a Washington State map and a world map in the fellowship hall where we will post pins of the places Flat Jesus visits! Have fun, be safe, and take Flat Jesus on the road with you this summer!

Church on the Road

This summer, we are moving Church on the Road to an online format based on feedback from our community. In July and August, you will receive an email with information you can use while you are away from church this summer. We encourage you to worship where you are. Included in your email will be a calendar of activities, a Flat Jesus update, bible readings and discussion questions, a few family games, prayers, and maybe a few other things. If you would like to be added to our email list for Flat Jesus, please email Becky.
