Holy Spirit Lutheran Preschool Staff

Our dedicated staff of preschool teachers love working with families and helping each child to shine in their own unique way.  Our teachers attend ongoing trainings and conferences to keep up with the very latest early childhood research.  Cultivating joyful learners who are curious about the world around them is a commitment that our staff takes very seriously.

Director/3+ Class Lead Teacher

Preschool has always been a special part of my life.  My Mom and my Grandmother were preschool teachers who had the gift to be able see the light inside each child.  I believe that every child has their own unique superpowers, and that some superpowers may be in disguise at first.  When children develop their strengths and interests with the help and love of their family and a strong early education foundation, they can have the power to make the world a better place.

I have worked with children all my life, and now as a parent, I have a deep empathy for the complicated carework that parents must do to cultivate these amazing little people.  I have a passion for seeing and coaxing out the strength and potential in every child.  I also value of parent education and communication, which has driven and inspired me to write articles for nationwide parenting publications, infant/toddler curriculum for local parenting groups, and activities for family faith formation programs.

I have two amazing elementary-aged daughters and have been married to my prince charming for 16 years.  I love Paris, coffee, poetry, writing, and I love children’s books. I especially love “prescribing” books for families facing any kind of issue, ailment, or need for comfort or support.

Preschool Rocks!

PreK/Bright Ideas Enrichment class Lead Teacher

Hi, my name is Corrine Zarfos but the preschool kids call me "Miss Coco". My brother, Colin and I were born and raised in Seattle by our mother and grandparents. My husband, Josh and I were recently married and we have an adorable Corgi, named Neftali. I enjoy reading, astronomy, playing in nature, art and exploring other languages.

I am passionate about empowering students to be their best selves and I enjoy coming up with creative methods for incorporating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) into learning activities.

I feel very blessed to be a preschool teacher and thrive on the variety the classroom provides as I continue my education toward a degree in early childhood education.

Preschool Teacher

I have been at Holy Spirit Preschool since 2010.  I enjoy every moment with children and have learned lots of things from them.

My favorite activities are music, science time, and crafts.

My husband and I have two children and both of them grew up at this preschool.  As a family we love sports.  I jog everyday and enjoy playing tennis.

Tonya Cunningham

Holy Spirit Lutheran Preschool

Preschool Teacher Assistant

I’ve worked with children in many different roles – from Outdoor Educator in the mountains of Colorado, to a Children’s bookseller on a quiet island in Maine. As a preschool teacher, I strive to give my students a safe and accepting, peaceful place to experiment, create, socialize, and grow into an empathetic and educated student.

When I’m not covered in paint and glitter, reciting a rhyme, or passing out a delicious snack at the preschool – I live at home in Lake Forest Park with my husband, three children and two dogs. I enjoy collecting and writing children’s books, poetry, watercolor, baseball (go Mariners!) hiking, and antiquing.
