Should a Tiny House Village be Located on the Eastside

  • Holy Spirit Lutheran Church 10021 NE 124th Street Kirkland, WA 98034 (map)

The June Lutheran Peace Fellowship program will be entitled “Should a Tiny House Village be Located on the Eastside”. For several months members of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church have been participating with the Eastside Villages Alliance. The Eastside Villages Alliance is a task force with members from several eastside churches that is exploring the feasibility of locating a “tiny house village” on the eastside. Sharon Lee the Executive Director of the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) will discuss the current status of Tiny House Villages in Seattle and answer questions. We will follow that discussion with an summary of the activities of the Eastside Villages Alliance. We will also discuss the plans for HSLC to construct another tiny house in July. Representatives from LIHI and EVA host our  post program table discussions. Tiny Houses are not the solution to housing all homeless persons but most feel it is an alternative that is suitable for many and should be one of the options available to homeless individuals on the eastside. Come join us as we continue to explore opportunities on the eastside to site a “tiny house village”.
