Good Friday Worship

It’s an odd day to call ‘good,’ when we remember Jesus’ death outside the walls of Jerusalem. What is good about this day is not the death itself, or the cruelty it contained, but the depth of love behind it. Rather than return violence with violence, Jesus endured pain and suffering, all the way into death - so that, when we face our own encounters with death and pain, we will never be alone. Worship this night is a Tenebrae service of increasing darkness, with music and scripture readings.
