Everyone is invited to make a joyful noise singing together this Summer! Please join the new-this-year Summer Spontaneity Singers on the last Sunday of June, July, and August. Singers of ALL ages are welcome, and families with children are VERY welcome! Meet at 9:00 am on July 28 and August 25 to learn a simple song to offer together during 9:30 worship. Join us for one month or all three! Contact John Sparkman with questions.
In early August the ELCA voted to become a sanctuary denomination meaning that the ELCA is publicly declaring that walking alongside immigrants and refugees is a matter of faith. While we may have different ideas about how to fix this broken system and may have different ways of loving our neighbors, our call to love our neighbor is central to our faith. Bishop Shelley Bryan Wee will join us to provide additional insight, answer questions, and explore with us how we may choose to practice our faith in the world with immigrants and refugees. The presentation will also share information about the work of Lutheran Immigration Refugee Services and opportunities for individuals to advocate for the fair treatment of migrants and refugees.
The annual Seattle Pride Parade will be held Sunday, June 30 and we will once again be marching as the Loving Lutherans of the Northwest Washington Synod sponsored by Open Door Ministries. Contact Pastor Mary-Alyce if you’d like to participate, firstname.lastname@example.org.
