Lutheran Peace Fellowship

The monthly gathering of the Lutheran Peace Fellowship: Eastside is Sunday evening, October 21st from 6:00 till 7:30 pm. This month’s subject is HUNGER. Learn about the hunger crisis in portions of the world and explore where the hardest hit areas and are and what are the causes of the crisis. Our speaker explores the state of hunger in Washington State and King County. The presentation transitions to discussions on what the Bible and our Lutheran faith tells us about helping those affected by hunger. Other than donating to the local food bank, what we can do to assist others locally and elsewhere in the world? We also explore advocacy opportunities to change the root causes of hunger locally and globally.

Our speaker is Sarah Vatne. Sarah is an ELCA Hunger Advocacy Fellow working with the Faith Action Network (FAN). Her position focuses on analyzing and addressing the root causes of hunger and economic injustice, and promoting a holistic approach to hunger ministry.
