March 23-25 at Rainbow Lodge in North Bend
Join us for the 10th annual HSLC Women’s Retreat! This year we gather on Palm Sunday weekend, so we will make our way through the central stories of Holy Week: Jesus’ meal with his friends; washing their feet; the betrayal by the disciples; and Jesus’ death and resurrection. How do we hear these ancient stories in new ways? How do they challenge us and give us hope in 2018?
As always, there will be plenty of time for friendship, relaxation, renewal, and rest. See a full schedule for the weekend here.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What should I bring?
Bring personal items like toiletries - bedding and towels are provided by the Lodge. Bring your bible, and things you'd like to do during free time: books, games, knitting, quilting, pillows for your nap, tennis shoes for hiking, or whatever you find relaxing.
What's the food like?
The Rainbow Lodge staff provides great meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, as well as brunch on Sunday. You may bring snacks to share, especially for evening free times. Beer and wine are allowed, so you can bring that too (to share, of course). Although it's legal in Washington state, marijuana is not allowed at the Lodge. If you have allergies or other food restrictions, please list that on your registration form below.
How do I get matched with a roommate? What if I want a single room?
A limited number of single rooms are available. If you have a preferred roommate, list that person on your registration. If not, we'll be happy to match you with someone. If you have other room needs (first floor, close to the bathroom, etc.), please make a note of that on your registration.
What's 'relational free time'?
One of the primary reasons for this retreat is to be able to spend time together without the distractions of daily life. "Relational free time" is meant as time to help make those connections with one another. Bring your favorite books, that knitting project you've been trying to finish for three years, the quilting you never get to, the scrapbooking stuck in the back of your closet...you'll probably find someone joining in the same activity. Or simply sit with a cup of coffee and meet a friend. Free time, spent together, building relationships.
Can I just take a nap during free time?
What time should I get there?
Though traffic is unpredictable (at best...), the Lodge will not open for us until 7pm on Friday. It's best not to arrive much earlier than that.
Are scholarships available?
Yes. Scholarships - partial or full- are always available. please contact Pastor Katy for more information. All scholarship conversations are kept confidential.
Can I come for part of the retreat?
If space is available, there is an option to come just for the day on Saturday. If you are interested, please contact Pastor Katy. Fees for the one-day option vary depending on a number of factors, but we'll do our best to include everyone.
