HSLC volunteers have traveled to the Boistfort Valley almost every Saturday since late December 2007 to help with
rebuilding homes that were flooded. Thanks to the many volunteer hours, the work is done and the folks of Boistfort
are moving back into their homes. However, others in the Chehalis-Centralia area are still struggling to clean up the
flood mess and rebuild their homes and desperately need our help. So, we will shift the focus of future mission trips
to that area. More mission trips have been scheduled for June 14, 21, and 28. Can you help? If you are interested
in going on any of these trips, contact Louise Dressen at 425-823-8347 or sign up on the Social Ministry board in the
Fellowship Hall.
Although construction skills are always helpful, the only things you really need are willing arms and a warm heart.
We usually have a skilled team leader who can teach you what you need to know to do the task at hand.
This is a great opportunity to get better acquainted with other people from HSLC. You are also welcome to bring
family and friends – the more, the merrier. Our volunteers have also found themselves becoming a part of the community
we are serving through working side-by-side with the residents and hearing their stories over lunch.
