Director of Music
John Sparkman served congregations in Indiana and North Carolina prior to coming to Holy Spirit in the summer of 2010. He can't clearly remember a time when he wasn't singing or playing an instrument in church, even from his earliest days in his teeny-tiny hometown of St. Paul's, NC (think Steel Magnolias, only Betty runs the beauty shop, not Truvy). He's a Tarheel, graduating in 2002 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. John finds great joy and fulfillment in helping to lead Holy Spirit's music, and he warmly invites you into active musical participation! Reach out to him if you'd like to sing or share your instrumental talents. Outside of music, John's an avid cyclist, a wannabe runner, needs to talk to someone about his Starbucks problem, and is a full-time, frequently frustrated Seattle sun-seeker.
