HSLC offers Sunday School for students in grades 1-6 at both 9:30 and 11:00am.
9:30 Session
Students hear & experience the Word of God in a workshop-based program that follows the season of the
Christian church year. Each session starts with Chapel. After Chapel, students participate in one of three
different workshops---art, drama & Bible skills. Each workshop concludes with time for students to reflect
upon the day's lesson with their shepherds.
This program needs many adults to serve as workshop leaders, shepherds and helpers. Parents with children
enrolled in this session are encouraged to volunteer. Sunday School service gives an opportunity for parents
to fulfill their baptismal promise to provide for the Christian education of their child as well as to grow
together in faith with their child.
11:00 Session
Students attending the 11:00 program learn about God’s love in a more traditional classroom-based Sunday School
setting. Each session ends with a Word- and music-filled closing. Students study God’s Word using Christian
curriculum and lots of creative projects.
Parents with children enrolled in this session are encouraged to volunteer. Sunday School service gives an opportunity
for parents to fulfill their baptismal promise to provide for the Christian education of their child as well as to grow
together in faith with their child.
Holy Spirit Lutheran Church is committed to keeping children safe, and so asks that all
adults volunteering in ministries with children and youth undergo a background screening.
Our guidelines are outlines in a “Safe Haven” policy, available in our church office.
We also ask that you attend a training session so you are familiar with this policy and
have the opportunity to ask questions. Contact the church office to register for the
next class or obtain the class schedule.
