Holy Spirit's nursery offers free childcare for children from six weeks through three years old during all church services. Our nursery offers childcare for children six weeks through 5 years old for special events. Our nursery offers childcare for children six weeks through 6 years old and supervision of children ages 7 through 10 for Adult Education opportunities.  For all children over the age of 6, we encourage the child to come with something they enjoy doing and will keep them entertained for the duration of the time. The nursery and its staff may also be available to outside groups for a fee. Arrangements should be made through the church office.

We strive to create a safe, comfortable, nurturing environment for young children not yet able to sit through an entire church service.  Parents are welcome to stay and play with their child to assist in acclimating him/her to the nursery.

We ask parents to sign their child in and out of the nursery each time, per our Safe Haven policy.  Our policy also requires an adult rather than a sibling pick up your child. Please notify us if your child has food allergies.  We serve only cheerios and water.  No other snacks or beverages may be brought into the nursery as a safety precaution.

Although we maintain an emergency supply of diapers and wipes, we ask that parents bring these necessary items for their child.  This helps the nursery to defray costs.  It is also helpful if parents inform us if they are in the process of potty training their child.

The nursery promotes interaction between children and their caregivers.  We have a large selection of developmentally-appropriate toys and books.  Children are encouraged to share, take turns, respect each other, and to be helpful and gentle.  We teach acceptance, understanding and interest in each other's differences, abilities and cultures.  Parents are asked to come to the nursery if their child is inconsolable or behaving in an aggressive manner.

Our providers have been trained in early childcare, CPR and first aid.  They have also attended our Safe Haven training and had a criminal background check performed.

Holy Spirit Lutheran Church operates a well-child nursery only.

We love caring for your small children!  Our goal is to provide a place where your children want to come and stay.  We hope that through our expression of Christ's inclusive love and our enthusiasm in play, we can assist our youngest members in happily transitioning into our Rainbow Kids Sunday School program.
