At Holy Spirit, we seek to engage faith with our hearts, souls, and minds. We encourage questions. We read the bible and wonder about it together. We approach bible study as an integral part of the life of faith, and we seek to move beyond a literal interpretation of the bible to think more deeply about its meaning in our 21st century world. Our classes are open to the whole community, not just members.

The classes cover theology with Bible study, church history, religious history; spirituality and what it means to live as a Christian today; and topics of current concerns and controversy like atheism and social justice. Our teachers and lecturers are our pastors, highly knowledgable folks from our church as well as visiting professors, authors, and professionals.

Pastor Mike has been teaching our very popular 2 year bible study class Crossways for many years. Crossways is a 2-year bible study overview, beginning with Genesis and continuing through Revelation. Along the way, we look at the bible’s original authors and the cultures in which they lived; we examine the communities for whom the scriptures were written; and we ask questions about the bible’s meaning for today. Crossways podcasts are available at no charge. You’ll find a complete schedule for the current Crossways year 2 starting Sep 14, 2011 here. The next new Crossways year 1 begins in the fall of 2012.
