Our primary purpose as a Christian community is to worship. We gather weekly to offer our prayer and praise to God, to hear God's Word
proclaimed, and to receive the Holy Sacraments. We are committed to the philosophy that worship is not meant to be entertainment, it is the
ministry of the whole people of God gathered in a holy and historic ritual we call liturgy.
"Liturgy" is defined as "the work of the people" and at Holy Spirit we seek to offer creative, reverent, and meaningful liturgies in the
three services we offer each Sunday morning. Look at our 2008
schedule.
We offer a complete calendar of Special Services throughout the year.
Our staff supports a several special events for our members throughout the year as well. Weddings,
Funerals, First Communions and baptism planning. Holy Spirit offers complete
confirmation training and offers a service of confirmation each year.
Our services could not be managed and led without the support of many people who greet, usher, assist and acolyte at each service.
The schedule for Worship Assistants and job descriptions are here.
New members are received into Holy Spirit Lutheran Church three to four times each year after they complete a
new member class
The sermon each Sunday is recorded for archival purposes and cassette tapes are available to purchase in the church office or online for

CHOIR
The Holy Spirit Lutheran Church Choir practices in the sanctuary on Thursday evenings, from 7:30-9:00pm. Anyone who likes to sing is invited
to be a part of the choir. More importantly no experience is necessary. We teach the music and the basics of singing in a group!
We generally sing at one or two services per Sunday, and take one Sunday off per month. We also prepare and present
a seasonal concert, usually during Advent / Christmas.
Please contact our Director, Eric Peterson, through the church office to join the
choir.
We are a very supportive and encouraging group of men and women -- plus we have a
lot of fun! Come try us out!! |

SPECIAL MUSIC
There are many opportunities each month for you to share your musical talents outside of the choir as well.
We like to have vocal or instrumental special music at all services. If you would like to sing or play
in small ensembles, or do some vocal or instrumental solo work, be sure to contact Eric Peterson through the church office.
WORSHIP ASSISTANTS
If you are interested in serving in any of these ministries, please notify the church office.
