The church community is present throughout our lives; marking and celebrating important milestones, and offering support through difficulty.
At a person’s death, the church shares the grief of those who mourn. At a funeral (when the casket is present) or memorial service (without a casket), we give voice to our sorrow, thank God for our loved one, and entrust this companion of ours into the hands of God. God is the center of this worship service which marks the end of life: we trust in the promise that, claimed by Christ in baptism, we rest in the sure hope of the resurrection.
Please call the church office to speak with one of the pastors about a funeral or memorial service.
God creates us for relationships: as friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, and in myriad other ways. We celebrate when two people make a life-long commitment to one another and surround them with love and prayer as they begin that new life.
While we are able to help you celebrate a wedding, we are also eager to help you create a good marriage. The pastors will work with you in premarital counseling, and in planning the wedding service. Please contact the church office to speak with one of the pastors about a wedding. Because the church is most importantly a community of people, and not simply a building, the church is not available for weddings without one of the pastors of Holy Spirit Lutheran.
