Ministry Guide

Music

Music has long been a central part of the Lutheran tradition. At Holy Spirit, we join in singing together every Sunday, and we also give thanks for the musical gifts in this community. You are invited to be part of the music life of this congregation!

The Chancel Choir practices in the sanctuary on Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:00 pm. Anyone who likes to sing is invited to be a part of the choir. More importantly – no experience is necessary. We teach the music and the basics of singing in a group. We generally sing at one or two services per Sunday and take one Sunday off per month. We also prepare and present a seasonal concert, usually during Advent. If you are interested in joining or have any questions about choir, please contact our director, Eric Peterson, at either ericpe@elbk.com or (425) 398-1245. We’re a very supportive and encouraging group of men and women — plus we have a lot of fun!

The Jubliate choirs, for children and youth, offer a fun and rewarding opportunity for kids to learn musical skills and share the love of God through song. More on Jubliate is available here. (link to Jubliate page, children & youth)

Soloists

Are you a soloist, either vocal or instrumental? There are many opportunities to prepare and present solo or small group pieces; at our weekly and special occasion services, and from time to time at weddings and memorial services.

Music in Education

Both our Sunday School and Vacation Bible School curricula include music components. Please contact the directors of those ministries if you are interested in putting your talents to work in helping organize, teach and/or lead the music portions of those programs.
